Awesome Talk!

I love this picture of the new first presidency. I am so excited to listen to them in a little over a week. :) Conference weekends have become some of my favorite times of the year. They give me the boost I need and I love the spirit it brings into my home.

So today I needed to go to the YW general broadcast with my miamaids. It started nice, with dinner at the bishop's home and then everyone went together to the stake center. A choir of YW sang from Cache Valley and the YW leaders all spoke, which was very nice. But then President Eyring got up and gave a very emtional and touching talk. All of you need to see if it will be posted on the church's website...I'm sure it will. It was just so awe inspiring to listen to him speak words from his heart. I want to have my YW reread it, but I really want to stress it to my children. I have spent about 80% of my married life in the Young Women's program and I have a true testimony it is inspired of God. Once again tonight, the spirit was so strong. He spoke so clearly about how each of us were valiant enough to choose to come to earth and follow Heavenly Father's plan. We were also valiant enough to be held back until this particular time on earth....presented and baptized into the gospel. And, more valiant to be sitting and watching the broadcast that night. He also said that because of our strong and unwavering testimonies, our trials may be severe. But we are never alone. Stay steadfast and immovable in the ways of the Lord and all will be well. I can't remember everything, but I do remember he said there are angels to help us and the holy ghost to guide....what a awesome blessing I have been given to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so grateful for the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and that I can rely on Heavenly Father to mold me into the person I need to be.

Hi Everyone!

Hi Guys :)
So I didn't realize that you could get to my blogspot from my comment on somebody else's blog...lol...I hadn't given anyone my blog address because I felt like it needed much more work before I presented it to the public. :0) It is obviously not done well yet, but that's okay because now it's out there...lol.... Kira and I were seriously just learning when we did all that. Hopefully I will get more creative. Jamie has told me forever to get a blog going, and now I'm glad I did. This will be really fun to keep in touch with friends and family this way. I love seeing everyone's pictures and stories. It's awesome! And now that I know how to make a comment (I know....I'm very technilogically challenged...)I will be able to let you know when I've come snooping in on your lives...lol...Anyway, our family picture is giant. It's like you open our blog and BAM.....there's the family. My friend told me today how to fix it so I'll be working on that everyone :0) Very exciting!!!!

Spring Break

Well, we had a pretty uneventful spring break, but it was very relaxing. We went bowling on Monday, visited a friend Tuesday, went to the Shark Reef on Wednesday, hung at at home all day on Thursday, and did yard work for my dad on Friday. Like I said....nothing too exciting. :) We cleaned the front and back yards and planted some new pots of flowers. If you don't know already, I love gardening and growing flowers and plants. If I had enough money, I'd have the ultimate backyard for sure. My kids on the other hand don't enjoy having to help me clean up and get rid of weeds. I like President Hinckley's thoughts that growing a garden with your family helps teach them much about life....my kids disagree I think. I told Kira that it helps us watch life grow from a seed on and that just like our garden we have to weed out those things that are not good in our lives. She can't quite get over that fact that it's still manual labor, in the hot sun, with dirt and bugs. Not her favorite. Anyway, it's hard to believe this week has gone so fast....I love having my kids home more than anything. We will be counting the days until summer break!

We Finally Did It!

So Kira and I were sitting at the computer tonight...totally bored...and decided to finally make our family blogspot. I don't know how good I'll be at keeping it up, but I'll try :)
